Description
Managing the Terrorist Threat is an interactive bitesize course that will take you through a number of sections, closely following a crisis management approach, examining, and scrutinizing a number of critical areas as follows: What is Terrorism? Pre-Crisis - Planning for the Terrorist Attack, Operational Phase and the Post Crisis Phase.
This course includes a rolling scenario based exercise, Determined Response during which Learners will adopt the roles of an on-duty Security Officer (Charlie), and two attendees (Sara and Finn) at a concert.
During the exercise learners will be taken through a dynamic situation, divided into a number of phases, and during each phase the learner will be asked several probing questions (self-discussion) to analyse their approach to the threat.
At the end of section 4, there will be advice and guidance written by the course tutor relating to the 'self-discussions', based on the tutor’s experience, qualifications and current government guidelines.
This course is suitable for security operatives, non-security personnel working in events and planning, and any individual who wishes to enhance their knowledge of terror mitigation techniques.
